This story is about life after death.  Scientific fiction which makes you wonder about the afterlife experience. It is the first book of the river world series. The main characters are Sir Richard Burton (hero of the story), Alice Hargreaves, Monat, frigate

Richard finds himself resurrected in a planet where money naked and hairless people are resurrected. He has lots of questions in his head. He wants to know who is governing them all. On a quest to find the answer for all his questions.. he decided to find out what is there on the other side of the river. When he sails across the river he gets trapped there like a slave and he founds that people who die in this place wake up alive in the same planet in a different place. He founds that there is no death or escapes from that place.

To be honest, I didn't like this book, maybe because I expected something different. I felt bored as many in places the author talks about the same thing. My favorite part of the book is when Burton decides to find out the mysteries.

If you love to read series and science fiction, you will love this book.
